Alex Nasta is the Founder and Principal Consultant of Common Ground Consulting, where she helps businesses, nonprofits, government agencies, and mission-driven organizations secure funding, communicate with impact, and build strategic partnerships that drive growth.
With more than seven years of experience leading high-visibility programs and communications initiatives within the U.S. Department of Defense, Alex brings a unique combination of strategic planning, proposal development, communications, and stakeholder engagement. Throughout her career, she has managed complex programs, coordinated cross-functional teams, developed executive-level communications, and cultivated partnerships among government, industry, and community stakeholders.
Alex holds a Master of Science in Communication from Purdue University and combines analytical thinking with compelling storytelling to help organizations articulate their mission, strengthen their brand, and pursue new opportunities for growth. Her expertise includes grant writing, proposal development, strategic communications, business development, public affairs, marketing, partnership cultivation, and organizational strategy.
Her diverse background spans aviation and aerospace, federal contracting, agriculture, nonprofit organizations, military and veteran initiatives, and startup businesses. Alex understands the unique challenges organizations face when navigating growth, securing funding, and connecting with the communities they serve.

As a military spouse based in California, Alex enjoys exploring the country's national parks, distance running, spending time with her cats and dogs, and spending time around farms and livestock whenever she can. These experiences continue to shape her appreciation for the people and industries that keep communities strong—from military families and agricultural producers to small businesses and nonprofits working to make a difference.

About Sofia Gudino
Sofia Gudino is a healthcare operations and clinical consulting professional with more than a decade of experience leading surgical services within high-performing hospital environments. Her career spans progressive leadership roles—from Certified Surgical Technologist to Operating Room Team Lead and ultimately Operating Room Manager for a Level I trauma facility—providing her with a comprehensive understanding of both frontline patient care and executive healthcare operations.
Sofia specializes in optimizing operating room efficiency, improving clinical workflows, and strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration. She has led teams across ten surgical specialties, partnering with physicians, nurses, and hospital leadership to enhance operational performance while maintaining exceptional standards of patient care.
Her expertise includes surgical services management, operating room operations, OR billing and BOM sheet management, staffing and workforce coordination, timecard review and approval, process improvement, and organizational leadership. Known for her collaborative approach, Sofia excels at building trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders and creating engaged, accountable teams that thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
Based in Illinois, Sofia brings both clinical expertise and a deep appreciation for agriculture and rural communities. Outside of consulting, she enjoys spending time with her dog, Stryker, caring for goats, raising poultry, and working with pigeons with her family. Her connection to both healthcare and agriculture gives her a unique perspective on the challenges facing rural organizations, producers, and community-focused businesses.
